The Internet has created a profound opportunity for businesses
by serving as a powerful medium for communication and
information sharing as well as a way to do business and deliver
services. However, its very openness also poses security threats
from hackers with malicious intent in gaining illegal access to
company, client and employee information. Therefore, companies
must be able to control access to their web applications and
other resources to keep their network safe and protect
confidential information from unauthorized users. Authenex
offers a convenient, cost-effective, manageable, and easy-to-use
strong two-factor authentication systems through the Authenex
A-Key® and Microsoft ISA Server. Unlike Password-only access
control systems that are inherently weak, the Authenex system
allows administrators to assign inbound and outbound web
permissions according to each end-user's specific A-Key -
extending the authentication point not only beyond the IP
address and to the individual user, but right to the specific
HTTP or HTTPS file request(s) the user may be permitted to
execute.
Authenex Strong Web Access Control is available through our
Authenex Strong Authentication System (ASAS). When ASAS is
deployed alongside Microsoft ISA Server, strong two-factor
protection is provided for direct network access, web access
Outlook Web Access, plus the feature below:
- Limit Web Access -
Enforce the strongest possible
user-specific web access
restrictions; Set permissions
according to scheduled times, web
destinations and content as well as
file types.
- Provide Authorization for Incoming and Outgoing
Traffic - Limit intranet and extranet access based on
specific HTTP or HTTPS page or file requests.
- Set Content Restrictions - Control bandwidth and
other network concerns by setting permissions according to
file type categories that include: Applications, Application
Data Files and Audio, as well as Compressed Files,
Documents, HTML Documents, Images, Macro Documents, Text,
Video, and VRML.
- Deploy a Web Crawler - Use the Authenex
webcrawler to ensure the identification and restriction of
all appropriate URLs.
The Authenex A-Key® deployed along with ASAS, may also be
used to leverage a suite of other Authenex e-Security
applications, including:
- PKI and One-Time Password Authentication
- Secure File Exchange
- File and Hard Drive Encryption
- Strong (Web) Access Control
- and Digital Certificate Storage.
