Authenex HDLock

An HDLock user can:

• Secure contents of the PC hard disk with AES-based encryption and two-factor authentication
• Protect data on notebooks that are unattended, lost or stolen
• Work without interruption on their encrypted hard disk
• Use the same A-Key with multiple Authenex e-Security applications
• HDLock is also available with a Management Server for ease of enterprise deployment. This feature allows for greater recovery options for users in a corporate environment.

How HDLock Works:

Authenex HDLock employs our Authenex A-Key USB token, with on-board CPU that is able to perform encryption, and uses 128-bit AES encryption to protect the contents of the hard drive. Once encrypted, two-factor authentication via the A-Key is needed to access the encrypted data.

• After installation, simply insert your personal A-Key into the USB port and start your computer. The A-Key can then be removed and will become "locked" again upon hibernation.
• When prompted, enter your password
• Begin working. All files are encrypted, decrypted and re-encrypted automatically and cannot be read without the A-Key - even if the hard disk is physically removed from the computer.

Authenex HDLock is available with a Management Server feature. The Management Server offers enterprises greater flexibility with registering user accounts and recovery options for ease of deployment and administration. This feature allows for a simple web method of recovery in the event that an A-Key is lost or misplaced. A three-step question and answer process generates a soft key that can be used to access an encrypted hard drive. Also included are reporting capabilities to show active and inactive A-Keys.
