Authenex - Ensuring Security and Total MobilityAuthenex ASafe
Local File Encryption and Secure File Exchange

Authenex ASafe, Local File Encryption and Secure File ExchangeAuthenex ASafe™ is an affordable and simple-to-use alternative to PKI-based applications that allows users to encrypt and decrypt files locally using their Authenex A-Key. A-Key users can also securely exchange files with other A-Key users over the Web, email or any other type of network - without having to deploy certificates or certificate servers.

The intuitive ASafe interface allows users to simply right-click on a file to encrypt or decrypt it. The A-Key has an on-board encryption engine that use 128-bit AES (Advanced Encryption Standard). They may then email the encrypted "package" to another A-Key user, secure in the knowledge that only the designated A-Key holder(s) may receive and decrypt the file. The Authenex encryption system also provides support for non-repudiation and digital signatures.

Authenex ASafe Virtual DemoHow ASafe Works:

To start the ASafe application, you must first authenticate using two-factors:

  1. Your personal A-Key and
  2. Your password. Neither the ASafe application, nor the encrypted files can be opened until both factors of authentication are deployed.

Encrypting a file - To encrypt and decrypt files on your PC, simply right-click and choose "Encrypt" or "Decrypt."

Exchanging an encrypted "package"

Again, simply right-click on the document itself - then select "Create ASafe Package." A "package" is simply an encrypted file that may be exchanged with other selected A-Key holders. You will then need to select the A-Key number of the intended recipient - also called the electronic serial number or ESN.

ASafe encrypts the document - now called an "ASafe package." The only A-Key holders who may now decrypt the file are you and the person(s) you selected during the encryption process. This information is embedded in the message header and authenticates the receiver by their A-Key ESN. At this point, you can simply attach and send the encrypted package as you would in an ordinary email.
